About Us

Whispering Woods is an associated community of various style townhouses, duplexes, and single family homes on the Broadneck Peninsula in Annapolis, Maryland. The homes are located on both sides of Bay Dale Drive (Exit 28 off Route 50 / 301) and sit on a network of county and community owned roads.

The community is managed by the Whispering Woods Community Association, which is governed by the community covenants, bylaws, rules and regulations, as well as by county laws and regulations.  The board oversees the welfare of the community with the help of a Board Administrator, Violation Program Administrator, Treasurer, Lawyer, various contractors, volunteers, the county, and members of the community.

Amenities:

The community consists of many unique amenities ranging from playgrounds, tot-lots, walking paths, and open recreational areas.  See our Amenities Page for details.

Seasonal Contests:

We have several contests for residents to participate in throughout the year.  In the Spring/Summer we have a landscape contest where the best looking yard wins a prize.  In the Fall we have a leaf contest where the house with the tallest/biggest pile of leaves wins a prize, and at the end there is a Christmas decorations contest. We had so many residents participate the first year of the Christmas decoration contest we broke this contest into two categories.  There is a prize winner for the most elegant/classy looking decorations as well as the most fun/exciting decorations.

Holiday Visits:

Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny have lots of friend in Whispering Woods and everyone looks forward to their arrival each year.

In December (usually the 3rd week), Santa is escorted by the Anne Arundel County Police and Fire Departments through the community and ends at the Whispering Woods tot-lot where his big red velvet chair awaits him along with a long line of excited children (and parents).  The Fire Firefighters let the children tour the fire trucks and the Police Officers talk with the children and parents about staying safe.

In the spring the Easter Bunny hops down the bunny trail (otherwise known as the path to the Meadow) for an afternoon of fun hunting for filled-eggs and passing out candy.

Block Parties:

Many courts have organized “block parties” where they get the opportunity to get to know their neighbors better and enjoy fun times together.  Some courts go so far as to chip in and rent moon bounces and ice cream trucks.

Movie Night in the Meadow:

The Social Committee is making plans to host the first “Movie Night in the Meadow” with a family-friendly movie (for all ages).  An outdoor inflatable movie screen will be set up in the Meadow.  Residents can bring beach chairs, blankets, picnics etc and set up for a fun night. Stay tuned for more details.

Finances:

Whispering Woods Community prides itself on the financial stability of the community.  The monies collected from the annual assessments are used to pay for the community’s monthly expenses as well as to fund special projects and improvements throughout the community all while being able to set aside money into a reserve account at the end of year.  A copy of the monthly budget report is posted to the website each month.
